What Mindset You Should Bring to Timeleft Events?

Are you an introvert? Hate social gatherings but want to meet new friends or potentially meet someone you could see as a life partner?

The events can go terrible or they could turn out to be amazing. Reading Timeleft review is fine but you should be open to the endless possibilities this universe has to offer. However, if you embrace the idea of meeting new people and tell yourself that I am open to seeing what happens, you will give it a try a few times.

Why do I say “a few times?” Coz you would meet different people every time you sign up for the event. Your first event could be bad, but your second one can be amazing.

If you are afraid of giving it a try, just get the one-time ticket and see if you would like to go again. It’s really low risk! You have got nothing much to lose.

What If You Bump Into Your Exes or Creepy Folks You’ve Known Before?

Ever thought how awkward it would be if you bumped into your exes or those creepy folks from dating apps that you despise?

Well, if you are from a smaller town, you may see people from your past – but let’s just say, if that happens, have an exit strategy if you must leave! Check your phone halfway through and say you have an emergency and you got to go.

Or, just play it cool and talk to others, enjoy your dinner, and don’t acknowledge the person’s existence. Haha!

How I Got To Know About Timeleft?

In all honesty, I came across a Facebook ad that looked like this:

From the ad above, I think anyone would think that it’s a direct competitor of dating apps. I do think some of their ads are a tad misleading because TimeLeft is not a dating app.

However, when I saw the ad, curiosity got the best out of me and I went to check it out. On their website, they mentioned that they are not a dating app but they are fighting big-city loneliness.

Nevertheless, I was open to meeting new people in general just for the fun of meeting new people and I was trying to read Timeleft review – just like you!

What Made Me Sign Up?

  1. Seeing My City on the List

Now, it’s not very often I see dating events happening in my city and when I saw TimeLeft in my city in Johor Bahru, I got very excited! I was in touch with one of the speed dating organizers in KL and was telling them they should do one here. So, when I saw TimeLeft in JB, I had to show my support.

  1. Very Affordable One-Time Pass

My one-time pass costs around USD 15 (converted from local currency in Ringgit Malaysia)- which is cheaper than the ones for cities in Europe or the USA.

I thought I would lose much even if I ended up not liking the event.

  1. Coz Dating Apps Suck (No Luck on Dating Apps)

I also ditched dating apps some time ago because they were becoming increasingly annoying, giving off very shallow vibes from people.

Ever since I wanted to connect with people in real life and wanted to meet new people. I thought this app would be a great alternative although they have explicitly stated that it’s not a dating app.

I thought it was important for me to just connect with people organically and for that to happen, I need to practice going out and meeting new people.

The Dilemmas

  1. Expensive Dinners

However, I got to know from Facebook comments on TimeLeft’s page that the dinner was expensive and some did not enjoy it.

This Timeleft review made me think twice. I was thinking of skipping the dinner as I had no idea where it would be until the day of the event.

  1. What If I Don’t Like The People?

Now, it wouldn’t matter if it’s an expensive dinner if you like the event and the people you meet at the dinner. But what if you meet completely depressing folks? Lol.

You see, being an introvert, meeting new people still does seem like a huge deal for me. What if I’m the only Indian there? What if I’m the only female in the group?

A lot of possibilities were racing through my mind.

On The Day

  1. I Called Up The Restaurant

So, on the day of the event, we get to know where we are dining at 9 o’clock in the morning.

I called the restaurant in order to find out if they have a reservation under Timeleft and they said yes they even revealed that there is a reservation for 7 people and they confirmed that it’s not a buffet but it’s an ala carte menu.

So, that seemed like a relief to me.

By the way, you still have the option to cancel your booking on the morning of the day of your event, but you’re not allowed to do this often.

  1. The Traffic Jam

The city center where I live is pretty bad as the roads are diverted to temporary routes due to the Rapid Transit System project that’s ongoing to connect Singapore and Johor.

Google Maps said I would arrive by 7.03 pm but I arrived ten minutes later. 🤦‍♀️

I quickly found a parking spot and tried to look for the hotel because our restaurant was actually in a five-star hotel, so you can imagine that it gives off a fine dining experience to diners.

  1. The Restaurant

Everyone had arrived by the time I arrived and the restaurant itself was pretty and there were basically no other diners, which made it quite a good experience for us because there were no distractions and it felt exclusive for the same reason.

It was a little bit hard to locate the hotel because there were so many other buildings next to one another, making it difficult for people to locate the entrance of the hotel.

  1. Customer Service at The Restaurant

I would say the customer service at the restaurant was not very good because they were not attentive to what we had ordered, and desserts were served late, only after we asked. I think they could do better.

My Timeleft review:

  1. People I Met (A High-School Senior As Well)

I had an amazing experience connecting with people who came to the dinner. There were actually seven of us and one was a Singaporean. I think the Timeleft AI did a good job in terms of matching people based on personalities because the ones that came were from healthcare, business, and also finance backgrounds.

There were basically four guys and three girls and I have to say that there was a good mix of different races and that made the first experience a great one.

We had two doctors, one pharmacist, one accountant, and the rest business owners.

And towards the end of the dinner, I got to know that one of the girls was actually my high school senior! What a small world. I saw her after 22 years.

All the Timeleft is not a dating app, it is interesting to note that out of the seven participants, 6 were single and only one was married.

I think that it goes to show that a lot of singles have more extra time after work and also the fact that a lot of singles want to ditch dating apps and look for new avenues to meet people organically.

  1. We Created A WhatsApp Group

All of us had a great time together and we even decided to create a WhatsApp group to chat further about the app and also possibly meet up in the future.

I don’t think that it takes some time to really make friends with people that we meet during dinner because usually, a one-time meeting would not result in a friendship being created.

FAQs

The Timeleft app is completely legit because just like any other app that connects people, Timeleft is a platform that enables you to meet new people. However, you should definitely practice meeting people at a safe place and making sure that you inform your family or friends of your whereabouts.

My Timeleft review: I had a great time connecting with people and I even got the chance to meet my high school senior! You never know who you would bump into.
